Block Clean Up Day and Cookout

    9:00 amWest 147th Street

    Back by popular demand!
Once again, our block association has worked with the City to schedule a cleanup on Saturday September 22nd from 8:00 am to noon. The street will be closed to both on-street parking and through traffic so that residents can bring household trash to the curb for a special bulk pickup by Sanitation. This is a great opportunity to clear out your basement, closets, etc. of all the old junk that is driving you crazy - just bag or tie it up as you would for a regular trash pickup.

A number of people have expressed interest in donating items to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army needs to know in advance what items we plan to donate and then they will arrange a donation pickup. Items should be clean, gently used clothes, books, toys, furniture or other household items - they need to be in good enough condition to be reused. If you do have items for donation, please contact Emily Litz at emilylitz@hotmail.com or 646-327-8515 and we will schedule a pickup on the first weekend date possible.

It gets better….join us for a cookout afterwards
At 12:00 noon we'll gather for a cookout at 416 West 147th. Kate Asher has graciously volunteered to host and provide hot dogs and hamburgers. The rest will be potluck. If you plan to attend, please RSVP either by using the link in the email of September 6th, or text your name and how many people from your household plan on attending to Emily at 646-327-8515. If you would like to sign up to bring an item there is an online form in the September 6th email, or let us know what you’d like to bring in your text.
